About Nedra Kline Weinreich

Nedra Kline Weinreich, the president and founder of Weinreich Communications, is widely recognized as an expert in the field of social marketing. She is the author of the classic book "Hands-On Social Marketing: A Step-by-Step Guide" and is a prominent blogger on social marketing issues at the Spare Change blog.

Weinreich Communications is a social marketing consulting firm that assists nonprofits and government agencies with creating positive health and social change. Located in the heart of Berkeley on the University of California's famous Sproul Plaza, the ASUC Martin Luther King, Jr. Student Union building is a lively and easily accessible location. The UC Berkeley campus is rich in beauty and history, and is known for its activist roots. Sometimes called "The People's Republic of Berkeley" or "Berzerkeley," the city of Berkeley hosts many shops and restaurants, in addition to tie-dye street vendors. Just across the Bay from San Francisco, Berkeley is easy to get to by car or public transportation, with a BART station in walking distance to the campus. Directions and logistical details will be provided with the registration packet prior to the training.

We are happy to offer discounted room rates for training attendees at the historic Berkeley City Club Hotel, which is just a few blocks from the event location. Known as architect Julia Morgan's "Little Castle" (she designed Hearst Castle in San Simeon, CA), the Mediterranean-Gothic architecture includes indoor-outdoor courtyards and cozy places to sit in the common areas.

Guest rooms have sweeping views of the San Francisco Bay, the University campus, and Berkeley Hills. Continental breakfast is included. In the spirit of the era, guestrooms do not have televisions (a Television Room is located on the first floor). The hotel also offers free wifi and an indoor, mosaic-tiled swimming pool.

Our discounted group rate is $115/night Sun-Thurs (and $140 Fri-Sat if you wish to extend your stay). Just let them know you are with "Social Marketing University."
